See that cat back there in the picture? His name is Bill. Bill E. Goat to be precise. My sister and I took him to the vet the first time so we got to pick his name.
Everyone else calls him Bucky.
Whatever you want to call him, he's a good cat. And by good, I mean he hangs around a lot hoping that you give him some food.
By cat standards, that's being 'nice.'
But I can't really blame him. He gets absolutely zero variety in his diet. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all exactly the same. The only thing special are his treats each night, which are actually just 4 or 5 pieces of a different type of kibble.
Humans have tons of variety in our diets. We can even have different flavored pasta if we want. I rarely eat the same thing for 2 meals in a week. If I were a cat, I'd probably beg too.
MUSHROOM FLAVORED PASTA
1 c. semolina flour
1 c. all purpose flour
3/4 c. shiitake mushrooms, minced
pinch salt
1 Tbsp. olive oil
2 eggs
water
1. On a clean working surface, mix together flours, mushrooms and salt. Make a well in the center of the flour and pour in the olive oil and eggs.
2. Gradually start to incorporate the eggs and oil into the flour mixture, kneading as you go. Add in enough water to form the dough into a ball.
3. Roll the dough (in small sections) through the pasta maker then cut into the shape you want.
4. When you're ready to cook the noodles, bring a pot of water to a boil. Add in a splash of olive oil and a pinch of salt. Stir in the noodles and cook until they float to the surface (2-4 minutes).
